Most impactful beautiful pavilion at the 55th Biennale di Venezia was, for me, Vadim Zakharov’s Danae. Only women were allowed downstairs where gold coins rained down upon us. These coins were hoisted up through the levels of the pavilion with a crude bucket, into an intricate conveyor system to rain and repeat.
